The midfielder came off with a hamstring injury in the first half of the 2018 World Cup opener.
Russia’s strong start to the World Cup took a blow after Alan Dzagoev limped off with a hamstring injury in the first half in the tournament opener against Saudi Arabia.
The midfielder went down with injury early in the contest, and was forced off in the 24th minute, with Denis Cheryshev taking his place.
The hosts had scored in the 12th minute though Yuri Gazinskiy to take a 1-0 lead.
The first half ended with Russia increasing the goal tally to two courtesy of Denis Cheryshev who netted a stunner.
