THE DIARY GAME: ATTENDING A FRIEND’S MOTHER’S FUNERAL. (6/12/2025)

I’d like to share my experience from yesterday's event, as I joined a friend and their family to pay tribute to the late Mrs. Edo Etim Akaiya (Nne Edo). The burial service was a heartfelt and unforgettable event characterized by reflection, togetherness, and strong emotions.

Today, I was present at the funeral and memorial service for my friend’s mother, the late Mrs. Edo Etim Akaiya (Nne Edo). The experience was deeply moving, filled with honor, reflection, and strong emotions. Organized by The Apostolic Church, Big Qua District, Calabar, the service followed a thoughtful program that celebrated her life and legacy.

The event began with uplifting choruses, hymns, and prayers that fostered a serene atmosphere. Bible readings offered comfort through God’s Word. The choir performed beautifully, with each song providing strength to the grieving family. As the service continued, the pastor delivered a poignant sermon entitled “What Will You Be Remembered For When You Are Gone?” He emphasized that life should not be measured solely in years, but by the impact we have, the kindness we offer, and the positive influences we create in the lives of others. This message resonated with both the young and old, encouraging purposeful living.

The biography and tributes were among the most poignant moments of the day. Family members described her as a strong, kind individual who always welcomed others.
