Achievement 3 : by @sohailahmad75 Task : Content Etiquette
Achievement: 3
Hello everyone
I hope you all are fine with the grace of Allah Almighty. I am also fine, Alhamdulillah.
I am posting my Achievement 3 which is based on the topic of plagiarism and content etiquette. I have learned that we should not copy content from another users. We should write our own content and if we want to use another images or text etc so we should take permission from that user of whom you want to use image or text etc.

What is Plagiarism?
when anyone copying another person's work (like writing, ideas, or images) without his permission.
Explanation:
when we take another person's work or ideas and show them as our own without giving credit is called plagiarism. It is not a good habit and is considered dishonest.
Sometimes people copy text, images, or ideas from the internet and use them in their posts. Even if we change a few words, it can still be plagiarism if the idea is not ours.
The best way is we write in our on words and always mention the source if we use another person's or another softwere content. This shows honesty and respect for others’ hard work.
Example:
Suppose you read something useful on the internet and you like it. If you copy that exact text and paste it in your post without mentioning where it came from, that is plagiarism.
But if you understand the idea and then explain it in your own words, or you mention the source from where you take the information, then it is not plagiarism.
so it will be good when everyone write there post from there ideas and in there words if there is mistake it doesn't make problem because we are humans and humans can do mistakes.
Types of Plagiarism:
There are many types of plagiarism but i am explaining some of the most common 8 types of plagiarism.
1) Direct Plagiarism
2) Self Plagiarism
3) Paraphrasing Plagiarism
4) Mosaic Plagiarism
5) Accidental Plagiarism
6) Source-Based Plagiarism
7) Complete Plagiarism
8) Patchwork Plagiarism
Direct Plagiarism:
where user directly copies any information or data from another person’s work without citing the original source. This means that a user is using another person’s words without altering them or citing the original source.
##Self Plagiarism:
where user reuses their original work without informing others. This is similar to presenting the same content to different people.
Paraphrasing Plagiarism:
where user rewrites another person’s content without citing the original source. This means that user is using another person’s idea, though they have altered the words.
Mosaic Plagiarism:
when anyone mixes copied phrases from different sources with their own words without proper credit. It is a blend of others’ content without acknowledgment.
Accidental Plagiarism:
This happens when anyone uses content without giving credit by mistake. It usually occurs due to forgetting to cite sources or not knowing the rules.
Source-Based Plagiarism:
when a person uses incorrect, fake, or misleading sources, or cites a source that doesn’t actually support the content. It creates confusion about where the information came from.
Complete Plagiarism:
when anyone takes an entire piece of work from another person and presents it as their own. It is the most serious form of copying.
Patchwork Plagiarism:
when anyone joins together ideas, phrases, or sentences from different sources into one piece without giving proper credit.
My Suggestions to Avoid Plagiarism
- everyone should try there best to write in my own words instead of copying from others.
- First, everyone read and understand the topic properly, then you explain it in a simple and clear way.
- If anyone use someone’s idea or image, so he should always make sure to give proper credit.
- everyone should avoid copy-paste and focus on making there content original.
- Before posting, everyone should check there work to make sure everything is correct and clear.
- everyone should do honesty in there works, and we should always respect others’ hard work.
How to Cite a Source?
Citations
citation and plagiarism are related.citation is known as when user take permission or give credit to a person or source from where user wants to copy the text, image or file etc.
Example:
A citation is a way of showing that from where you got your information. When you use ideas, facts, or words from a book, website, or any other source, you mention the source in your writing. This helps give credit to the original author and shows that your work is based on reliable information.
Citations are usually written with the author’s name and the year of publication. They are used in essays, research papers, and articles to avoid plagiarism and to guide readers to the original source if they want more details.
