Apple iOS 11.0.3 rolls out, fixes two major issues
NEW DELHI: Ever since the arrival of iOS 11, Apple seems to be releasing OS updates more often than ever before. The Cupertino-based tech company, which rolled out iOS 11, v11.0.1 and v11.0.2 recently, has now released v11.0.3. This is the third update to iOS 11 in less than four weeks. The new OS version fixes a couple of bugs in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s smartphones.
One of the bugs fixed by iOS 11.0.3 is the audio and haptic feedback motors that were giving issues after iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphone users updated their devices to v11.0.2. The OS version also addressed an issue where the touch input was not responsive in some displays of iPHone 6S, which were not serviced with genuine Apple components. It is worth mentioning that before the arrival of iOS 11.0.3 many users reported hearing noise from the smartphone's earpiece while in a phone call or while doing a FaceTime call.
While these are mere maintenance releases, a next big release may come with the iOS 11.1. Apple previewed new emojis in July this year and said that it will be rolling them out later this year. These emojis were the ones approved by Unicode Consortium as a part of Unicode 10.
However, earlier this month, the Cupertino-based tech firm previewed some of the new emojis and said it will be coming as a part of iOS 11.1. Apple has not yet revealed when it will be releasing the consumer version of iOS 11.1 to the compatible iPhone and ipad models. These new emojis are already available in the latest iOS 11.1 beta version.
New designs include emojis from different categories such as food, animals and gender neutral characters among others. "The new emoji are designed to reveal every detail and adapted from approved characters in Unicode 10. iOS 11.1 will also include characters announced on World Emoji Day like Woman with Headscarf, Bearded Person, Breastfeeding, Zombie, Person in Lotus Position and new food items such as Sandwich and Coconut. Also included in the update is the Love-You Gesture, designed after the "I love you" hand sign in American Sign Language," says Apple newsroom website.
