Because judged to have infringed patents, Xiaomi sued its compatriot smartphone vendor, Coolpad to stop production of a number of cell phones.
The product in question is Mi6, Mi Max 2, Mi Note 3, Mi 5X, Redmi Note 4X, and Mi Mix 2. According to Coolpad note, these six products have violated a number of patents including UI design of dual SIM card slot.
Under the lawsuit in Jiangsu Province court, Coolpad through its subsidiary Yulong Computer Telecomunication Scientific Co Ltd filed demands on three groups of Xiaomi companies namely Xiaomi Telecom Technology Co Ltd, Xiaomi Technology Co Ltd, and Xiaomi Factory Co. Ltd.
In the court records, Coolpad judged that Xiaomi has been imitating a number of features, functions, basic communication features to mobile phone interactive features.
In addition, in the note Coolpad requested compensation for the loss of this patent infringement.
