Never, never, never let them take your spoons!

That's exactly what an Eye-Scooper-Outterer would say...

The real root of all this violence is helplessness. More and more people are losing their jobs to automation and outsourced slave labor in other countries. In order to compete with this, low-level workers have to take less pay until they are eventually phased out. There is a serious lack of opportunity available, all around the world.

The companies that profit the most refuse to give back to the communities that they are destroying. Through lobbyists and bribes, these corporations use politicians as puppets and answer to no one as they continue to exploit the system. Corporations even legally count as people to take the real heat off of the actual individuals perpetrating these crimes against humanity.

Metaphorically, all the problems are just getting swept under the rug. The "solutions" to the problems (like banning weapons) is yet another way to just try to sweep it under the rug. These random acts of violence are a sign that the dilemmas of society can no longer be contained in such an ineffective and greedy manner.

This is a great well researched piece. We need more of this kind of quality post on Steemit.

It is weird that governments take such a hard line on drugs.... if the demand is there they could easily tax them at the same rate as cigarettes and alcohol, and get themselves a massive new income stream.

Some of that revenue could be spent on support programs to help with addiction issues, while another amount spent on education. Surely overdoses would drop dramatically.

It's been shown that the government profits from making drugs illegal; much more than they would from taxing it. When you make a drug illegal, you create artificial scarcity and jack up the price. This illegitimate money now has to be laundered and paid for by income tax. That doesn't even count all the crazy fucked up backdoor deals that rogue law enforcement has with the mob. They can also siphon tax-payer money away from the War on Drugs without anyone knowing about it, in certain situations. Oh, did I mention that prisons can be run for-profit? Let's fill up our jails with people that don't deserve to be there and siphon more taxes there! Hurrah!

Wonderful post ..thanks for sharing...Best of luck friend ✫

Keep fighting Carey.

Thanks for writing this article and providing good quotes to fortify your points. With that said, in my opinion, while enacting more police measures and legislative bans on weapons is clearly not the answer, the solution is not reducing invasive government policy either. Reducing invasive government policy would be a positive action, not debating that point, but it is not the solution to man's violence against their fellow man, the answer to this is far deeper. With all of that said...Article Up-Voted.
