Iraqi authorities again deployed their fighter jets to carry out attacks on Syrian territory.
Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in a statement called the F-16 fighter targeting a meeting of the ISIS terrorist group south of Al-Dushashiya.
"F-16 fighter aircraft were used in the offensive launched in the morning and the attack was successful," said the spokesman of the Iraqi security media center, General Yehya Rassoul.
The Iraqi security media center has also released a video showing an explosion in a building that appears to be a target for fighter planes.
The area of Al-Dushashiya is in the desert region of Syria's Hasakeh province under the control of the US-backed Kurdish alliance.
"The attack was launched after receiving information about targets in cooperation with the Syrian government and US-led coalition forces," said Iraqi Defense Ministry Advisor Mohammed al-Askari.
The F-16 fleet of the Iraqi air force immediately led an attack mission to an ISIS command post about 10 kilometers from the Iraqi border in the Syrian region.
"The attack was launched after a meeting of several Daesh commanders who planned terrorist operations in the Syrian or Iraqi territories," Askari added.
Delivered by Askari, the attack launched successfully destroyed the target and all officials there were killed.
He added that the attack is not the last and will continue to target ISIS activities.
Iraq hosts a center that coordinates military activity with Iran, Russia and Syria against ISIS.
Earlier, on April 19, Iraq claimed to have air strikes to ISIS-linked sites in Syria, near the town of Hajin in Deir Ezzor province and killed 36 members of the terrorist group.
The Iraqi government has declared a win on ISIS in December 2017, but the remains of terrorists still control the enclave territories in the desert along the border with Syria.
