3-level Chinese formula to solve the Rohingya crisis
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi presented the proposal to Myanmar's capital, Naypyidaw, to join the Foreign Minister-level meeting of Alliance of Asia-Europe countries.
Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi inaugurated the ASEM conference on Monday, where foreign ministers from 51 countries of Asia and Europe are participating.
Wang E on Sunday said that China considers China as a "friend state" of Myanmar and Bangladesh. Beijing believes that the two countries will be able to find a solution that is acceptable to each other.
Chinese offer
In the first phase, Rakhine ceasefire will have to be implemented so that discipline and stability can be returned, peaceful environment is created and people do not have to leave the house.
If ceasefire is implemented, Bangladesh and Myanmar will have to reach an agreement through negotiations, so that the path of revocation of Rohingya has been created.
The final step should be to address the long-term solution to the Rohingya crisis, where poverty will be given the most importance.
Chinese foreign minister demanded that the first step of this formula has been 'achieved' by all parties. It is now necessary to ensure that there is no provocation for any new war anymore.
Since the beginning of Rakhine army campaign in late August, so far six hundred thousand Rohingyas fled to Bangladesh and took shelter in Bangladesh. The United Nations has identified this campaign as 'ethnic cleansing campaign'.
Western rights organizations are criticizing the leader of Myanmar Nobel laureate Suu Kyi. They say that Suu Kyi could not take enough stiffness to stop human rights violations in Rakhine.
China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday that they are keen to play a constructive role in the end of the Rakhine crisis.
Many of the formulas Beijing offered, including the statement by US Secretary of State Rex Telarons, who visited Myanmar last week.
However, he has urged Rakhine to provide an independent investigation into allegations of human rights violations, which is not in China's proposal.
Both Bangladesh and Myanmar have already started discussions on the repatriation of Rohingya, but the two countries have not been able to compromise on conditions.
