World Cup initiates massive demand for Ranch Dressing
The World Cup is all over the news these days although it doesn't really take a great deal of my own time. Apparently things are going well and I guess that is a very good thing. When in America, people are going to discover things that are decidedly American and as far as condiments are concerned I don't think there is anything more USA than Ranch Dressing, which many visitors to the States are discovering for the very first times in their lives.
Social media has been abuzz with people talking about how much they love Ranch Dressing and how they intend to bring some of it home with them after the games. The demand has been so huge that Kraft, one of the big makers of Ranch, as well as the Transportation Security Administration, have been making posts about how people can safely transport it back to their home country.

It's not something I really think about anymore but there is this rule on airplanes where you cant carry more than a certain amount of liquid onto a plane with your carry on luggage. The average bottle of Ranch dressing is FAR over that amount and the TSA is warning people to make sure that they put this keepsake in their checked luggage. It was a rare moment of the TSA having a sense of humor and I don't know about you, but it is going to take more than a couple silly Tweets for me to forgive those assholes for basically ruining airplane travel.

I'll give them a bit of credit for not being as robotic as you would think the TSA would be. I'm also surprised to find out that the TSA has over a million and a half followers. How sad is your life if you are following the TSA on Twitter? As someone that rarely uses Twitter (or X, if we are actually going to call it that) I don't understand what it is all about anyway but I guess we will just follow anything.
Kraft jumped at the trend and created a TSA safe Ranch container for carry-on and I would be willing to bet that they sell a lot of these.

While i don't really care about most of the World Cup games I can definitely get on board when it comes to Ranch. I wont be as arrogant as Kraft and suggest that it is the "World Champion of condiments" but it is pretty damn good.
I recall a time that I was abroad and had a container of Vegemite taken off of me that was a gift from my Australian friends. I didn't really want it but the Australian version of TSA had a chuckle about taking it off of me. They seemed genuinely disappointed that they had to take it from me and we couldn't get it checked either because there wasn't enough time for the flight in question. For the first time in my life airport security seemed genuinely concerned that I wasn't going to be able to take a container with me.
Maybe the TSA feels just as patriotic about Ranch as the Aussies did about Vegemite. I still have no idea what that stuff tastes like but I don't hear many good things. Ranch on the other hand is something that I think almost anyone will enjoy and hopefully all those people that are excited about it will heed the warning so that their Ranch can make it back to their home country intact. I would imagine that there are going to be some instances of the bottles rupturing in the checked luggage as well so if you are transporting it, I would suggest putting it in a Ziplock as well. Or if you want to be truly smart, get the dry seasoning that you mix with whatever you want upon return to your home country. They are much cheaper and they aren't going to explode all over your clothes when baggage handlers decide to have a contest about who can throw the checked bags the hardest.
