Afghans Allegedly Face Gunfire & Brutal Kidnappings For Ransom At Turkish-Iranian Border
In an interview with Josh Friedman, Ramazan, an Afghan migrant in Turkey, alleges he encountered gunfire from border officers on the Turkish-Iranian border. While also discussing the treatment he received from smugglers in the area, Ramazan alleges individuals involved in organized crime are kidnapping Afghan migrants by the Turkish-Iranian border, demanding ransom and even going to the length of slashing or cutting off migrants' body parts as a means of extorting their relatives or associates.
