Prospective president of Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Anis Matta again reminded of the potentials owned by Indonesia. With a variety of potential, both in terms of natural resources and human resources, Anis said Indonesia could be a major force in the world.
"With all its potential, Indonesia should be the main force of the world, acknowledged parallel to the powerful countries, and participate in determining the direction of world history," Anis said through a press release received by Sindonews on Monday.
Anis said, Indonesia should realize itself a great nation and a country worthy of respect. However, now that exactly the opposite, Anis called Indonesia as if still a weak state due to the narrative crisis and leadership.
Anis said the narrative crisis is indicated by the number of problems that find no answer. This condition causes people to feel lost direction so that they feel frustrated. Anis added that this crisis is also linked to the leadership crisis, where leaders fail to explain where the intended direction.
"Indonesia is like a big CC-engined car but runs without direction, and often misdirected, because the driver does not have the right GPS," said Anis.
Anis said, up to 20 years of reform era, the population of Indonesia increased 60 million people. The amount, he said, is equivalent to about twice the size of Malaysia. With a large population, Indonesia must be confident, think and act as a great country.
Therefore, Indonesia needs a new direction to reach its goal by transforming itself into a learner and religious society. The new direction will also lead Indonesia to become one of the world's major powers.
"Religion plays a role in character building, and the main character is honesty, knowledge is used to build competence. These are two important foundations for Indonesia to jump high and be respected," said Anis.
