AmazingAsia: Video of Two Monks in a Brawl in the Middle of the Road
Hello again Steemit,
This is Rita. I just happened to see this video of 2 monks fighting and find it interesting to share.
In Asia, monks are very well respected. In fact, in Thailand, joining the monkhood is considered a rite of passage into adulthood for young boys.
When you think about monks, you envision them being composed and dignified and not hitting each other in the middle of the road. But monks are human after all. Netizens have been buzzing since someone posted on Facebook a video of two monks in Yangon, Myanmar getting in an argument which led to a fist fight. The video can be view here.
It’s difficult to make out what they’re arguing about, but it seemingly involves a driver, perhaps from a bus.One monk shouts: “I know you were bullying others on the car. I know you were swearing at the driver.”
He then tries to walk away, but the other monk holds onto his wrist, and the two almost get into another fight. The first monk tells his friend to let go, and although it looks they’re about to start hitting each other again, the second monk finally acquiesces. The first monk shouts, “Don’t push it. You’re wearing a thingan [monk robes]” and storms away.
Believe it or not (and even if they technically shouldn’t) monks do get angry too.
Hope you like this story! If you do, dont forget to UPVOTE, RESTEEM and FOLLOW. :)
Thanks
Rita
