Keiser Report: Zombie Economic Woes (Summer Solutions E1098)

in #news7 years ago (edited)

[Este episodio en Español] In this episode of the Summer Solutions series, Max have two guests: Professor of Economics Steve Keen, with whom he discusses possible ways out of the economic crises, and Karl Denninger, about the health care system turned into a clients extermination machinery for the sake of earning a few quick bucks!

In this episode of the Keiser Report’s annual Summer Solutions series Max talk to Steve Keen, author of Debunking Economics and Can We Avoid Another Financial Crisis? (The Future of Capitalism), about whether or not allowing for the return of the business cycle might be a solution to our zombie economic woes.

Steve Keen is an Australian-born, British-based economist and author. He considers himself a post-Keynesian, criticising neoclassical economics as inconsistent, unscientific and empirically unsupported. The major influences on Keen's thinking about economics include John Maynard Keynes, Karl Marx, Hyman Minsky, Piero Sraffa, Augusto Graziani, Joseph Alois Schumpeter, Thorstein Veblen, and François Quesnay. Hyman Minsky's Financial Instability Hypothesis forms the main basis of his major contribution to economics which mainly concentrates on mathematical modeling and simulation of financial instability. He is also a notable critic of the Australian property bubble, as he sees it.

In the second half Karl Denninger of Market-Ticker.org offers his solution to the ever-worsening not so affordable healthcare crisis in America.

Karl Denninger is an American technology businessman, finance blogger, and political activist, sometimes referred to as a founding member of the Tea Party movement.
