According to many statistics about the oldest country in the world, San Marino was the oldest in history. It dates back to 300 BC, but today it is one of the smallest countries. It has not been recognized in any way as an independent state except through Pope Benedict XVI in 1631 AD.
Location of San Marino<
San Marino is located in north-western Italy, close to the center of Italy. It is about 225 km from the northern part of the Italian capital Rome. It is about 310 km south-west of the Italian city of Milan and is 370 km from the northern side of Naples, San Marino is close to the eastern Italian coastline overlooking the Adriatic Sea; these coasts are about 16 km away.
