Putin Puji Trump Dare to Plan to Meet Kim Jong-Un

Moscow - Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed the decision of US President Donald Trump to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un as a 'bold and mature decision'. Putin hoped the meeting could give a positive result.
The historic meeting will be held on June 12 in Singapore. Trump who had canceled the meeting plan unilaterally, finally declared himself to meet with Kim Jong-Un.
"I still hope that this meeting - a very courageous and mature decision by US President Donald Trump to communicate directly with North Korean leaders - will happen," Putin said in an interview with China Media Group, as quoted by Reuters, Wednesday (6/6/2018).
"And we all expect a positive result," he added.
Putin said that last month, his offer to meet with Trump has not been successful and hit by many problems.
In March, Trump said that he and Putin will meet soon. However, as the relationship between the US and Russia is getting worse, the meeting has not yet been held.
In a statement on Tuesday (5/6) local time, the White House announced the historic meeting hours of Trump and Kim Jong-Un, which is on June 12 at around 09:00 Singapore time.
"We are actively preparing for a June 12 summit between the president (Trump) and the North Korean leader," said White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders. This is the first time the White House has announced the exact time for the Trump and Kim Jong-Un meetings.
The White House also declared 'preliminary teams' including military, security, technical and medical staff, already in Singapore. "They completed the preparations and will remain there until the summit begins," Sanders said.
