Boeing 737 MAX grounded after Ethiopian crash, Grounded by several countries

in #news6 years ago

Since many countries have grounded the Boeing 737 MAX since a handful of aviation workers, lawmakers and countries have urged the United States to also ground the aircraft.

Dennis Muilenburg, the chief executive of Boeing was called on Tuesday and assured President Trump that the aircraft was safe but Trump chose to ban it for “psychological” reasons. The President feels it was the right call to make since two plane crashes have happened, both were Boeing 737 MAX, he said that planes are becoming more technology-based which might compromise safety in these aircrafts.

Despite these events, the company has claimed that “based on the information currently available, we don’t have any basis to issue new guidance to operators”. However, airlines like Southwest Airlines and American Airlines have said that based on the data, there is no basis for grounding the Boeing 737 MAX.

Boeing is also an arms manufacturer and has manufactured nuclear weapons like the B61-12 for the United States. All defense manufacturers like Boeing pay 30% tax to the government which is why Trump looked a bit unhappy while addressing the issue and ultimately grounding the Boeing 737 MAX.
