Reality attacking existence of satire industry.

Following a period of rising political and cultural tension across the West, satire organizations are reporting a dramatic decrease in ratings and subscriptions, as reality is catching up, seemingly seeking equilibrium with the absurdity of satirical sites.

“Absurdity used to be one of our major selling points, but we have been losing out over the last couple of years”, says The Onion editor Cole Bolton, who stresses The Onion needs to stay on top of their game if they want to survive the current attack from reality. Other satirical organizations are reporting similar, drastic increases in reality’s supply of illogical tweaks. Founder of Christian evangelical site Babylon Bee, Adam Ford, said in a comment “reality has gone from being what we used to mock to what is now undoubtedly our biggest competitor.”

In several countries, satire unions are making a concerted effort to crack down on reality’s ability to be absurd, as dozens of jobs worldwide may be facing their demise if the current news climate continues.
