In Japan, a senior citizen was killed by a swarm of hornets
In Japan last month, an 87-year-old female senior citizen was the victim of a hornet attack. The woman sitting in a wheelchair was covered with 150 stitches.
The orderlies could only watch during the attack. They argued that they would need appropriate protective clothing.
One day later, the woman died in hospital as a result of the stitches.
According to reports by Sender's NHK, about 20 people fall victim to hornets in Japan every year.
