Reminiscing How Nigeria Celebrated Her 53rd Independence Anniversary in Serbia
Celebration of Nigeria's 53rd independence anniversary in 2013 is one to remember. It was the tenure when my good boss, the former Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Serbia, Mr. Harold Augustus Koko, was the Head of Mission (HOM) of the Embassy of Nigeria in Belgrade. He is an alumnus of the great Obafemi Awolowo University, Ille-Ife and served Nigeria in the capacity of her Ambassador from September 2012 to March, 2016). Please, read the 53rd Independence speech by Amb. H.A. Koko, archived in Nigeria Embassy's website.
Ambassador H.A. Koko is currently the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) On Protocol to the Rivers State Governor in Nigeria. He was appointed SSA to Governor Nyesom Wike at the government house, Port-Harcourt on the 30th of May, 2017.
While he served as Ambassador of Nigeria in Serbia, we felt his fatherly presence. The welfare of Africans, not just Nigerians was very important to him. I was a local staff of the Embassy of Nigeria at that time and served my country, not just in the Nigeria chancery, but also outside whenever we had events. My overall boss then, Ambassador H.A. Koko is one whom I would like to work with again. Why? It is because he had respect for us his subordinates and treated us like human beings. I'm glad to still be in good relationship with him and his family and can't wait to see them again when I visit home soon.
My Responsibility As Chair, Entertainment Committee (Cultural Dance)
During the planning of the event, Amb. Koko constituted various working committees. I was put in charge of entertainment (cultural dance), while his lovely wife, Her Excellency, Mrs. Christiana Koko, was in charge of entertainment (food). I delivered on the mandate I was given as the chair of that committee and was able to organize cultural dance for the event. Something I wouldn't want to forget is the rendition of Nigeria and Serbia national anthems during our independence anniversary, which I did happily for 2 consecutive years (2013 and 2014).
Below are some photographs of the 53rd Independence Anniversary in Belgrade, Serbia

Wow!
You are a big woman ooo
Is your boss an Itsekiri by tribe?
Koko is a town in Delta State
Hahahaha...@tojukaka. I am a big woman, by God's grace. These photographs are from when I worked with our Embassy . I resigned last year when we got a new boss and the fellow was misbehaving. Read this post, when you have time to see why I resigned from the Embassy. My former boss, Amb. H.A. Koko is from Rivers State (Ikwere tribe, I think, but not sure). It's true that Koko is a town in Delta State. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Really sorry for my late comment.
Truly proud to be a Nigeria. I'm also glad to know that you are a Nigerian. Appreciates all that you are doing on this platform. Keep the flag flying and God bless you the more. God bless Nigeria. Naija for life.
