Another death story: Cokie Roberts Who Helped Shape National Public Radio (NPR)

Veteran reporter Cokie Roberts, who joined the new NPR in 1978 with her Washington policy coverage and left an indeliable mark on the increasing network prior to ABC News, died. She was seventy-five years old.

According to a family declaration, Roberts died Tuesday because of complications of breast cancer.

Roberts, one of the most renowned NPR writers, has been one of Nina Totenberg, Linda Wertheimer and Susan Stamberg, one of the few female pioneer reporters, who played major roles in journalism at this point, helped shape the sound and the public broadcaster culture.
