Ether in Jaxx & OMG Airdrop / how to claim tokens / wie man claimen kann

Hi fellow Steemians!

Yes, the OMG airdrop has finally happened. Yes, when you had your ETH tokens in a jaxx wallet you were awarded some OMG, even though Jaxx does not fully support OMG yet.

This is a quick guide on how to claim your OMG tokens easily when using jaxx:

Step 1: Check your private key for Ethereum

• open jaxx wallet
• go to the menu and select the tools section
• display private keys
• read the warning message, and if you do, click "I understand"
• click "display ethereum keys" and you will see both private and public key
• copy your private key

Step 2: Check your balance

• go myetherwallet.com, even if you don't have a wallet set up there (make sure it is the correct one, there seems to be a scam going around)
• go to "send ether & tokens"
• paste your private key and unlock the wallet
• it will show your ether balance
• scroll down to find a button "load token balances"
• this will show your balance of other tokens you received due to airdrops (I had small amounts of ICN and OMG in there now)

Step 3: send OMG tokens to another wallet / address

• scroll up again for the transaction section
• this looks pretty much like any transaction box you should know from other wallets or exchanges
• you are being asked to put in the "to address" and the "amount to send" (select OMG from the drop down menu) --> don't have an OMG wallet yet? you can use MyEtherWallet for that or simply get an OMG address in an exchange of your choice.
• select OMG from the drop down menu
• click "send entire balance"
• simply use the gas limit suggested by MyEtherWallet
• click on the "generate transaction" button
