Mt. Hood Ski West Bowl - Views
While camped out on Mt. Hood in Oregon for a month, we had the chance to view the mountain from multiple perspectives by hiking around the area.
Here is another view of the mountains in a post I made a few days ago: https://steemit.com/nature/@gzthesnowman/trillium-lake-the-place-to-be-near-mt-hood-in-oregon
Mt. Hood West Bowl is a fun recreation area towards the base of Mt. Hood. You can actually ski from the top of Hood all the way down and through a small town called Government Camp (take your skis off and grab a beer and keep on skiing) and end up at the West Bowl. It's about a 20-30 minute run depending on how fast you go!
Anyway, here are some pictures of our hike up the West bowl and it's perspective of the prominent Mt. Hood.
We we're pretty pumped to have had this view:
If you look really close, you can see Mt. Saint Helen's off in the distance to the left and Mt. Adams in the distance to the right (I believe it was Mt. Adams).
I sure do miss the Northwest :(
I'm from the North East, but damn the North West is beautiful.
Me and skiing already get along poorly enough without introducing alcohol into the relationship 😆
