A Magical Evening in Asolo, between Sunsets, Double Rainbows and Winged Lions - Discovering Italy with alequandro

Hi everyone, here I am with a new post full of photos!

Last week I returned to Asolo in the province of Treviso but this time I did it in the evening and I did very well!
I managed to photograph a double rainbow!!

La scorsa settimana sono tornato ad Asolo nella provincia di Treviso ma questa volta l'ho fatto di sera e ho fatto benissimo!
Sono riuscito a fotografare un doppio arcobaleno!!

It was 8 pm and a friend of mine and photography enthusiasts decided at the last minute to visit Asolo.
We weren't sure of going there because it was very late and the weather seemed to be bad.

Erano le 8 della sera e io e un mio amico appassionato di fotografia abbiamo deciso all'ultimo momento di andare a visitare Asolo.
Non eravamo sicuri di andarci perchè era molto tardi e il meteo sembrava facesse brutto.

We started photographing from the castle of the village to get a panoramic view of the ancient buildings.

Abbiamo cominciato a fotografare dal castello del borgo per avere un punto di vista panoramico degli edifici antichi.

The castle has been converted into a restaurant and to the side there is a beautiful theater where you can listen to symphonic works or see theatrical performances.

Il castello è stato convertito in ristorante e a lato c'è un bellissimo teatro dove si possono ascoltare opere sinfoniche o vedere spettacoli teatrali.

It was getting very windy so we decided to take some pictures from a small tower.

Si stava alzando molto vento quindi abbiamo deciso scattare qualche foto da una piccola torre.

The floor and ceiling are in wood while the supporting structure is in stone.
It is always fascinating to enter these places that have hundreds of years of history.

Il pavimento e il soffitto sono in legno mentre la struttura portante è in pietra.
E' sempre affascinante accedere in quesi luoghi che hanno centinaia di anni di storia.

Some openings allow you to look towards the city and I wonder how many people will have looked through this opening ... who knows how the landscape changed over the centuries!

Alcune aperture permettono di guardare verso la città e mi chiedo quante persone avranno guardato attraverso questa apertura...chissà com'è cambiato il paesaggio nei secoli!

My friend was intent on photographing the church bell tower. There are often concerts of the highest level.
Last year they performed Vivaldi's 4 seasons and the first violinist played a Stradivarius!!

Il mio amico era intento a fotografare il campanile della chiesa. Lì vengono spesso fatti concerti di altissimo livello.
L'anno scorso hanno eseguito le 4 stagioni di Vivaldi e la prima violinista suonava uno Stradivari!!

The roof of the tower has a wooden structure with exposed brick tiles and is really interesting.

Il tetto della torre ha la struttura lignea con tavelle in laterizio a vista ed è davvero interessante.

Moving to the corners of the castle courtyard, we photographed the plain that extends west of Asolo.

Spostandoci agli angoli del cortile del castello abbiamo fotografato la pianura che si estende ad ovest di Asolo.

Suddenly it started to rain so we walked towards an area where there are arcades where we can protect ourselves.
The sky was clear, there were no clouds yet it was starting to rain and there was wind!

Improvvisamente ha iniziato a piovere quindi ci siamo incamminati verso una zona dove ci sono dei portici dove proteggerci.
Il cielo era sereno, non c'erano nuvole eppure stava iniziando a piovere e c'era vento!

After 5 minutes the rain had almost stopped and we headed towards a higher point where we knew there is a nice view to the north.

Dopo 5 minuti la pioggia era quasi cessata e ci siamo diretti verso un punto più alto dove sapevamo c'è una bella vista verso nord.

I noticed two elderly women with an umbrella and that moment gave me an image of the past.
There were no cars, the two women laughed and chatted under the umbrella. A genuine moment.

Mi accorsi di due donne anziane con l'ombrello e quell'attimo suscitò in me un'immagine del passato.
Non c'erano auto, le due donne ridevano e chiaccheravano sotto l'ombrello. Un momento genuino.

The light was taking on a very particular yellow color and as we climbed the road became more and more intense.

La luce stava assumento un colore giallo davvero particolare e mentre salivamo la strada si faceva sempre più intensa.

It was Saturday night and it showed! It was full of cars!
It was not easy not to include them in my shots.

Era sabato sera e si vedeva! Era pieno di auto!
Non è stato facile non includerle nei miei scatti.

There is this beautiful villa, I have always wanted to visit it but unfortunately it is private and cannot be accessed.

C'è questa bellissima villa, ho sempre voluto visitarla ma purtroppo è privata e non è possibile accedervi.

Asolo is very beautiful because the buildings that compose it have maintained the typical dimensional characteristics of medieval villages.
The houses are developed on a few floors and the materials used are those typical of the place.

Asolo è molto bella perchè gli edifici che la compongono hanno mantenuto le caratteristiche dimensionali tipiche dei borghi medievali.
Le case si sviluppano su pochi piani e i materiali utilizzati sono quelli tipici del luogo.

We hurriedly climbed a steep uphill road because we feared that the light would change or worse it would start raining again...

Abbiamo salito di fretta una ripida strada in salita perchè avevamo il timore che la luce cambiasse o peggio ricominciasse a piovere...

That particular yellow light colored the facades of the buildings making everything magical.

Quella particolare luce gialla colorava le facciate degli edifici rendendo tutto magico.

We had reached the gap to leave the defensive walls of the village.

Eravamo giunti al varco per uscire dalla cinta muraria difensiva del borgo.

And here is the view to the north.
The friend Luca anticipating me made some shots.
The light was very beautiful!

Ed ecco il panorama verso nord.
Il amico Luca anticipandomi effettuava qualche scatto.
La luce era molto bella!

While I waited for my turn to take pictures, I snapped in the direction of the staircase that leads to the fortress on top of the mountain...

Mentre aspettavo il mio turno per fare foto, ho fatto uno scatto in direzione della scalinata che porta alla rocca in cima al monte...

The light was very beautiful but we were right against the light and there was still mist to affect the resolution of the shots...

La luce era Molto bella però eravamo proprio contro luce e c'era ancora della foschia a pregiudicare il risoltato degli scatti...

One more shot and then we decided to return to the square of Asolo...

Ancora uno scatto e poi abbiamo deciso di tornare verso la piazza di Asolo...

When we turned around to go back, we didn't believe our eyes!

There were 2 rainbows !!
The leftmost one was a little less visible but it was a sight for the eyes!

The point of view was very good, sin only for the haze that to eliminate, I have degraded the image a little...

Quando ci siamo voltati per tornare indietro non credavamo ai nostri occhi!

C'erano 2 arcobaleni!!
Quello più a sinistra era un po' meno visibile ma era uno spettacolo per gli occhi!

Il punto di vista era molto buono, peccato solo per la foschia che per eliminare, ho degradato un po' l'immagine...

The desire to exploit that light was so strong, walking fast I retraced the road looking for interesting glimpses.
Luca was struggling to follow me! :D

La voglia di sfruttare quella luce era forte così , camminando velocissimo ho ripercorso la strada cercando scorci interessanti.
Luca faceva fatica a seguirmi! :D

The rainbow lasted 5 at most 10 minutes then unfortunately it vanished.

L'arcobaleno è durato 5 al massimo 10 minuti poi purtroppo è svanito.

But the sky was giving us some really beautiful shades of red and purple, I didn't miss them! :)

Il cielo perà stava regalandoci delle tonalità davvero belle tra il rosso e viola, non me le sono fatte scappare! :)

Once in the main square of Asolo, right in the middle there is a fountain and on the top there is a winged lion, symbol of the maritime city of Venice.
It is the lion of San Marco, the symbolic representation of the Saint Mark evangelist.

Giunti alla piazza principale di Asolo, proprio centrale c'è una fontana e sulla sommità c'è un leone alato, simbolo della città marinara di Venezia.
E' il leone di San Marco, la rappresentazione simbolica dell'evangelista san Marco.

Concluding the post with a photo of a winged lion and the background with that sublime sky, it seemed perfect!

Concludere il post con la foto di un leone alato e lo sfondo con quel cielo sublime, mi è sembrato perfetto!

A normal evening turned into a memorable experience with an exceptional sunset.
I think if you are undecided whether to go out for laziness or other excuses, it means that you have to go out absolutely!
There are endless surprises waiting to be lived, you have to go out and explore!

Una serata normale si è trasformata in un'esperienza memorabile con un tramonto eccezionale.
Penso che se si è indecisi se uscire per pigrizia o altre scuse, significa che bisogna uscire assolutamente!
