Photographic Visit to the Lake of Levico in Trentino Alto Adige - Discovering Italy with alequandro

Welcome to Lake Levico!
After visiting the town of Levico Terme we moved a few kilometers to visit this lake, one of many in the province of Trentino Alto Adige.

Benvenuti al Lago di Levico!
Dopo la visita alla cittadina di Levico Terme ci siamo spostati a qualche chilometro per visitare questo lago, uno dei tanti presenti nella provincia del Trentino Alto Adige.

The lake is located at an altitude of 440 meters above sea level and is relatively small, it is 2.8 kilometers long, 1 kilometer wide and 38 meters deep.

Il lago si trova ad una altitudine di 440 metri sul livello del mare ed è relativamente piccolo, è lungo 2,8 chilometri, largo 1 chilometro e profondo 38 metri.

As soon as you park your car, you enter a large, well-equipped green area, with tables, benches, picnic areas and children's games.

A small stream of water leads me to the lake and step by step the view opens before my eyes.

Appena parcheggiata l'auto si accede ad un'area verde attrezzata molto ampia, con tavoli, panchine, aree picnic e giochi per bambini.

Un piccolo rigagnolo d'acqua mi conduce al lago e passo dopo passo la vista si apra davanti agli occhi.

The bank opposite to the one I visited has a natural connotation, therefore the view is pleasant without human presence.

La sponda opposta a quella che ho visitato ha una connotazione naturale pertanto la vista risulta piacevole senza presenze antropiche.

It was the first time I visited this lake and since it was an off-season visit, there were not many people, the slow movements of the water, the natural landscape and that autumn light gave me a relaxing walk.

Era la prima volta che visitavo questo lago e siccome era una visita fuori stagione non c'era molta gente, i movimenti lenti dell'acqua, il paesaggio naturale e quella luce autunnale mi hanno regalato una passeggiata rilassante.

A few yards away there were some nice ducks with black plumage and a white beak.
I did a search and it is the "Eurasian coot", I don't go to lakes much, so for me it was a discovery...

A qualche metro da me c'erano delle simpatiche anatre dal piumaggio nero e il becco bianco.
Ho fatto una ricerca e si tratta della "folaga eurasiatica", non frequento molto i laghi, quindi per me è stata una scoperta...

Continuing the walk I came to the equipped area of ​​the lake, where, some people, sat or walked on a recently built wooden structure.

Proseguendo la camminata sono giunto all'area attrezzata del lago, dove, alcune persone, sedavano o camminavano su un strattura in legno di recente costruzione.

Some sections of the lake were shielded by bushes of phragmites australis...

Other sections of the route around the lake were characterized by natural windows thanks to the fronts of the trees that were the frame.

A little further on they were moored pedaloes whose colors stood out from the landscape.

Poco più avanti erano attraccati dei pedalò i cui colori spiccavao rispetto al paesaggio.

Near where I was there was a large hotel that I tried not to photograph, as I find it in bad taste and in stark contrast to the landscape.

As a landscape architect and photographer, I allow myself to criticize him because I believe that when a building surveyor, an engineer or an architect, designs a building but also a simple street furniture, you have to do it with a certain sensitivity, especially in an area like this, near a lake.

Vicino a dove mi trovavo c'era una grande struttura alberghiera che ho cercato di non fotografare, in quanto trovo di pessimo gusto e in forte contrasto con il paesaggio.

In quanto architetto di paesaggio e fotografo mi permetto di criticarlo perchè credo che quando un geometra edile, ingegnere o architetto, progetta un edificio ma anche un semplice arredo urbano bisogna farlo con una certa sensibilità, soprattuto in un'area come questa, nei pressi di un lago.

Not wanting to walk to the hotel, because I didn't care, I went back and I could appreciate the view of the mountains that crown the landscape.

Non volendo camminare fino all'albergo, perchè non mi interessava, sono tornato indietro e ho potuto apprezzare la vista delle montagne che coronano il paesaggio.

The light was pleasant and I decided to take another shot with three kids sitting on that wooden slatted surface.

La luce era piacevole e ho deciso di fare un altro scatto con tre ragazzini seduti su quella superficie a listelli di legno.

The water was clear and very clean.
That's how I read that the lake has obtained the prestigious international Blue Flag Award from the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), thanks to the clear waters, the beach and the eco-sustainable tourism-environmental management policies of this resource by the municipality of Levico Terme.

L'acqua era trasparente e embrava pulitissima.
E' proprio così ho letto che il lago ha ottenuto il prestigioso riconoscimento internazionale Bandiera Blu della FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), grazie alle limpide acque, alla spiaggia e alle politiche di gestione turistico-ambientali ecosostenibili di questa risorsa da parte del comune di Levico Terme.

I was almost at the parking lot, one last look and a photo from the water trickle.
The light had become warmer and softer...

Ero quasi arrivato al parcheggio, un ultimo sguardo e una foto dal rivolo d'acqua.
La luce era diventata più calda e morbida...
