Speaking My Mind 10 - My Thoughts On Materialism

I think people today have gone so far into materialism. We do live in a material world and we do need it to live from something. But have we gone too far? How much is really enough for a happy life? Are 3 houses enough or 3 cars or boats? Where to draw the line? How much is enough is the question for all of us?

My humble opinion is that we have truly gone too far. We have a world where 1% of the world's population holds about 99% of all wealth in the world. Greed has overtaken the world and my opinion is that we world is not going in the right direction.

Some people today have no problem walking over other people to get wealth. Some of them go to such a great length they sacrifice their health in order to be "rich". Steve Jobs had everything material possible in this world but was he happy? Was Robin Williams happy?

They are a perfect example for all of us that money does not mean a happy life. We need material things to live in this material world but I believe we all need to ask ourselves how much is truly enough? That is for each and one of us to ask ourselves? I know I am...
