Steemit is a totalitarian nightmare regulated by fear and run by nincompoops.
Do any of you think themarkymark et al will finally reach the last account they need to downvote? Will the downvoting finally "clean" the system enough that no more downvoting will be needed? Can everyone be made to fall into line out of fear of losing their rewards? Can Steemit Inc sufficiently regulate what is published? Could it be that blockchain technology isn't the best fit for Steemit Inc's business model?

It would all work if... it was not an oligarchy. Content discovery is also tragic, so it's nearly impossible to effectively curate manually.
And result is that currently it is so much more centralised than facebook.
