Why Filipino family is one of a kind?

This question allows my brain to gather all the possible information. That prove why filipino family is one of a kind in some other countries. I am not saying that we have the best families here in the families. My basis is what I've seen, read, witnessed and experienced to the families from other nation.

Filipino family oriented culture!

This culture of filipinos is tested and proven from the day that I was born until today. In some countries they don't practice this kind of culture of being family oriented.
When children reach at the age of eighteen they are required to live independently. They need to live separately from their parents in order for them to receive their benefits from the government.

But here in the Philippines as long as we don't have our own families yet. Even we got married we still value the presence of our parents. We cant afford to let our parents living alone away from us. We are not like in some countries that put their parents/grandparents to an old orphanage. Then let payed care givers take good care our parents, which in the first place it is our responsibilities as their children.
For us we have to take good care our parents when they get old. It's our gratitude to return back that care and love of what they've shown to us when we was born.

Why Filipino Family culture is different from other counties?

We are living together even in a small house

We give respect to our parents and sibling by calling them " ate, kuya, nanay, tatay, bunso "

We take good care our grandparents

We are eating together

We celebrate occasions and events together with our family ( special or not )

We are polite enough to our parents by saying po/opo/mano po/magandang gabi po.

We loved to watch TV shows together with our families at the sala.

We always value the presence of having a complete family in all special occasions.

We celebrate family reunions and gatherings.

When I was young our father gather us all before we go to sleep. Then he will tell a story and all of us are concentrating while listening to him.

Whether he will talked about funny scenarios or horror stories. The most important thing is that our parents never forget to have fun together with us when they arrived after from work.

Because according to my father who already passed away last 2016. Never ever let the day passed without having conversation with your parents or siblings. To maintain the strong relationship of your family.

Philippines is composed of many religions and 3/4 percentage are Catholic. Then as a Catholic we are very religious and our spiritual connection with GOD is very strong.
When I was in Elementary when 6 o'clock in the evening approach. My mother together with my siblings we do the Novena. It is a religious devotion every day at 6 o'clock in the evening. Our mother taught us how to pray and conversation with GOD.

When Sunday approach together with my parent and siblings, we go to church to preach GOD.
Our parents told us that we should give our one day to HIM every Sundays. We should not also forget to thank GOD for all the blessing that we receive everyday.

Going to church with your family is the best way to consider why filipino family are very special.
