More About The Philippines: Cintai Corito's Garden, Batangas

in #philippines7 years ago (edited)

In my previous post, I was able to share with you my journey at the Marian Orchard in Batangas. Today, I will give you a virtual tour that will somehow give you a Balinese vibe.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Cintai Corito's Garden.

Noteworthy History

Cintai Corito's Garden has a very interesting history. An article from The Philippine Star stated that "Corito was the name of the matriarch of the family that put up the resort" who suffered from a terminal illness. This garden resort was the place where she found peace and relaxation, which made her forget about her condition. Cintai, however, is an Indonesian term for "love". Had I known about this before, I would have appreciated the place even more.

The Garden Resort

This is a seven-hectare property (yes, that big). The area is covered mainly by trees and you have to have short and long walks to get to different amazing Balinese structures.

Upon reaching the receiving area, you will be amused by these gigantic statues. Yes, you are still in the Philippines!!! I had doubts, too.

What I like about all these structures are the sophisticated patterns. I have this weird attraction to patterns and abstract things.

Door Portal

This is called the Door Portal. Just like the previous structures, these gave me an Indonesian vibe. I have not been to Indonesia but being here made me feel like I just have. The materials, by the way, that were used to assemble everything around here actually came from Malaysia.

I was able to take photos of these but I was not able to figure out what's behind this portal. Well, the place is so big that we were actually not able to cover the entire area.

Flora & Fauna

Of course, there are other organisms in the area like alpaca, chickens (lots of it), horses, deers, eagles, etc. I was not able to take photos of them because I was too scared to get near them. But what I was able to capture were some of the flowers like these:

I like the shot of the orchid with a touch of Balinese wall in the background.

You will see a lot of flowers and plants around the area. Should you visit the place, I advise that even if the entire garden (animals and plants) seems to be accessible to visitors, please do not disturb or harm them in any way.

Elephant Portal

This is my favorite part of the garden because of the very detailed design.

Too bad the sun was so high I could not appreciate the structure so much but upon looking at the pictures, I could see its complexity and intricacy.

If you are a foreigner, specifically an Indonesian, and would like to experience a touch of Indonesian culture, this place is what I recommend to you.
