The Caliph Harun sees Abu Nawas, and in his hand a bottle of wine,

and asked him: What is in your hand, Abu Nawas? Abu Nawas : A bottle of milk your majesty

The Caliph said : Is the milk red?

Abu Nawas : Its blushing because shame from you

The Caliph was impressed by his answer, and he pardoned him

Pada suatu hari raja Harun arrasyid melihat Abu Nawas sedang memegang botol minuman keras. Kemudian raja bertanya,

Raja : Botol apa di tanganmu wahai Abu Nawas?

Abu Nawas : Botol susu, raja.

Raja : Sejak kapan susu berwarna merah?

Abu Nawas : Susu ini berubah menjadi merah karena malu dari anda, wahai rajaku.

Raja terkesan dengan jawaban lugu dari Abu nawas, kemudian mengampuninya.
