Embalse La Coromoto ... Portuguese State

Given its depth, it has become the reservoir with the largest volume of water in Venezuela, surpassing the Guri. The 3,800 million cubic meters of water that it maintains come from the junction of the Boconó and Tucupido reservoirs, which in turn are supplied by the rivers of the same name. Created in 1974 by Decree 107 of the Guanare-Masparro Protective Zone, it has an area of ​​13,000 hectares to supply drinking water to the city of Guanare, generate hydroelectricity and also provide an ideal space for recreation and responsible tourism.
Recreation without damages: Probably, the only refuge of premontane tropical forest and low montane forest of the Portuguese State is in the upper part of the system of the Coromoto Reservoir (or Boconó-Tucupido as it is also known).
The reservoir has a jetty where small motorboats and canoes are arranged every day to be rented with driver included and to be able to immerse themselves in a relaxing walk for ten minutes.
From there, the inhabitants of the Tucupido, Los Espejos, Los Canales, Quebrada Negra, Quebrada Amarilla, El Quebradón and La Cachama villages, all on the other side of the reservoir, in the Barinas State, go to their destinations.
In its waters the fishing is practiced, from where they are extracted: peacock, caribbean, cachama, tuza and eventually giant coporos, catfish and jets.

How to get there: On the old road via Barinas, before Puente Páez, take the detour to Peña Larga, crossing an approximate distance of two asphalted kilometers

Hola, que tal a todos saludos desde Venezuela, un país mágico por sus bellezas y su amplia variedad de lugares con una historia que contar. En este blog les quiero regalar desde mi punto de vista y perspectiva lo que es y lo que siempre sera para mi y nuestras generaciones lo bonito que es estar en tu casa, así que disfruta mi país que es tuyo también.

Embalse La Coromoto… Estado Portuguesa
Dada su profundidad, se ha convertido en el embalse con mayor volumen de agua en Venezuela, superando al Gurí. Los 3.800 millones de metros cúbicos de agua que mantiene provienen de la unión de los embalses Boconó y Tucupido, a su vez abastecidos por los ríos del mismo nombre. Creado en 1974 mediante Decreto 107 de la Zona Protectora Guanare-Masparro, cuenta con una superficie de 13 mil hectáreas para abastecer de agua potable a la ciudad de Guanare, generar hidroelectricidad y además aportar un espacio idóneo para la recreación y el turismo responsable.
Recreación sin daños: Probablemente, el único refugio de bosque tropical premontano y bosque montano bajo del Estado Portuguesa se encuentre en la parte alta del sistema del Embalse Coromoto (o Boconó-Tucupido como también se conoce).
El embalse posee un embarcadero en donde lanchas pequeñas y canoas de motor están dispuestas todos los días para ser alquiladas con conductor incluido y poder sumergirse en un relajante paseo durante diez minutos.
Desde allí se dirigen a sus destinos los habitantes de los caseríos Tucupido, Los Espejos, Los Canales, Quebrada Negra, Quebrada Amarilla, El Quebradón y La Cachama, todos al otro lado del embalse, en el Estado Barinas.
En sus aguas se practica la pesca, de donde se extraen: pavón, caribe, cachama, tuza y eventualmente coporos gigantes, bagres y chorroscos.
Ubicación: San Genaro de Boconoito, límite con el estado Barinas.
Cómo se llega: Por la carretera vieja vía Barinas, antes de Puente Páez tomar el desvío hacia Peña Larga, recorriendo una distancia aproximada de dos kilómetros asfaltados.
