First signs of spring - Street photography
After months of short, gloomy winter days, the sun was finally able to break through the clouds yesterday to announce the soon arrival of spring. It's by far my favorite time of year - longer days, awakening of nature, animals, scents... everything is alive and calling you outside.
You can see from the photos the city was swarming with people who were enjoying the beautiful day. I went to the old fortress, one of the popular gathering spots, and tried to capture this awakening from the winter slumber.

That bridge and tunnel provides such a great frame for you. I like the 10th one in particular as it frames the building and river in the background. I also like the 9th one with the people entering the tunnel arch.
I can tell from the people's faces that the drudgery of winter has lapsed into hopes of spring and summer.

I've been wandering around that fortress for years and just now realized this spot would be great for framing and composition. :)
