Transbaikal Territory Khilok River. Autumn

Khilok is a surprisingly beautiful river in the Trans-Baikal Territory. It is branched heavily and has a winding course. The length of Khilka is about 840 kilometers and it flows into the Selenga River. The bottom of the river is composed of small pebbles, sand and gravel.

The highest water level is observed in the spring and summer, it was then that floods occur here. The ice shackles the river in October - early November, and the spring break begins in late April - early May. In the 20th century, wood was floated down the river. On the banks there are many small villages and villages, the largest of the settlements is the city of Khilok.

In these photos, autumn 2013 is probably one of the most beautiful times of the year in these places.
