Located inside UNESCO World Heritage Site Kanchenjunga Biosphere Reserve, Samiti is one of the prominent high-altitude lakes of Eastern Himalayas, at 4200m above sea level. It is 4-6 days away from the nearest road head, depending on speed of hiking. Base camp of Kanchenjunga, 3rd highest peak in the world, is in the same valley as this lake.
