We had a beautiful experience with a pod of humpback whales approaching the ship and playing around not far from the crew, as they set up the zodiacs.

Ari and his team set off to tag some whales and get some biopsies for identification. The drone was in action, getting some important aerial shots that would be used to estimate the weight and body condition throughout the season.

The team scanned for the VHF frequency from the video tag that was placed on a whale at the beginning of the trip. However, they couldn’t locate it. Hopefully, the tag is still underwater on the whale.
