Borran's Nature Photography: Squirrels Are Awesome!

in #photography5 years ago
Hey everyone!
Squirrels are awesome animals. They are cute, have ninja skills and are also very intelligent.
You probably know that the long tail helps the squirrel to balance and steer when jumping from one tree to another and running along branches. But did you know that the furry tail also keeps the animal warm during sleep?
Squirrels are also very intelligent creatures. They are known to bury bogus food to deceive onlookers. The fake burials are to trick potential thieves, into thinking that the food is stored there. Any observers will then focus on the bogus burial site, allowing the squirrel to hide the real stash somewhere else safely. Very smart isn't it?
What do squirrels eat? Mostly the seeds of trees, but also fungi, nuts and berries.
If they're really hungry and desperate, they can become evil. Bird eggs or nestlings may get on their menu, but very rarely.
Anyway, I got some cool shots of the two squirrels I met. They are quite difficult to photograph when they are acting like ninjas all the time.

Wow, your wildlife photos are improving with every new post. You will soon get to the pro level, great job man! Btw those squirrels are super cute :)

Thanks, @phortun! Well, at least I hope so! :P
I agree, squirrels are awesome!

Those are some pretty sweet pictures man! I have always thought about getting some sort of nice camera because even though phones these days take some pretty great pics, they can't compare to an SLR or whatever they are called these days.

When I lived in USA the squirrels were just everywhere... kind of a pest actually. However, in Thailand they are pretty rare. You almost never see them.

Well, thank you very much! I agree, today's phones cameras are very good, but you can't really zoom with them. That's the reason why I bought a bridge camera! :)

Squirrels really are awesome animals and this was an awesome post so we resteemed it!

Thanks for the resteem and thanks for stopping by! :)

Very cute squirrels! Great capture!

I absolutely agree with you, they are "cute, awesome and intelligent" animals, indeed. ;)

Great close up. I wish I could get the black one in my backyard.
