Wishing you a wonderful and a blessed Sunday 🙏❤ Stories are on 😉
The Monastery of Saint Maroun, or the Cave of the monks, is an ancient cavern carved out of solid rock in the side of a cliff, south of Hermel in the Baalbek-Hermel Governorate.

It is of three levels with small cells, rock stairways, and many altars, used to be the residence of Saint Maroun and his early followers in the 4th. Cenrury. It is mentioned that he worked and even died in this monastery. Romans built it then later it was occupied by Mamluks and Ottomans. Afterwards, it was left to decay but currently the Maronite Archdiocese has retained the right to renovate the landmark. 🌹🌹
