**Prints and Chemistry** Step by step guide and a little bit more
Photo taken on B&W 35mm film with one of my babe cameras Olympus OM10 .
The shot is of Bushy Park, one of the big parks in London belonging to the royal family. It's really a beautiful place to wonder around and photograph. The wildlife that coexist in these parks make it an even more interesting place to explore. One of the first times I visited I was so freaked out at the deer freely roaming in the park. Apparently it has been this way since Henry VIII used the place as hunting grounds you can find lots more information on this link and I recommend anyone to visit . https://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/bushy-park/things-to-see-and-do/flora-and-fauna/deer-in-bushy-park
Aaaaand back to the photo and process information.
At this point I am experimenting with different types of chemicals and how they can alter the emulsions or layers on a print. I really liked this effect made with bleach and the way it made the trees look like they are burning. One other cool part of the reaction is how some color came through the B&W print.
Freaky but interesting.
When trying out this process you need to be prepared to sacrifice lots of prints and bleach. I used the standard household bleach. I recommend doing this outdoors as it is super stinky and highly toxic. Also gloves might be a good idea.
I will give you a couple of steps to get started and the rest is up to you.
Take a container where you can put the bleach, it can be diluted with water depending on how heavy you want the layer to be when it comes off. Then take an old rag, cotton, even some paper and dip it into the liquid and start to make contact with the print. Feel free to experiment in every way, brush it, wipe it, drip it, spray it, anything is possible. Just remember to do it carefully. So when your print reaches a state that you are happy with keep it somewhere safe and dry and then maybe share a photo for everyone to admire :)
Okay I hope this explanation is clear. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
