Morning at the Great Marsh (Original Photos) -- 23 October 2018
Sometimes you can be so focused on watching what is in front of you, that you miss the scene behind you.
On this morning I hiked to the Great Marsh at Fontenelle Forest well before sunrise.

It was a 0.34 mile hike on the Gifford Memorial Boardwalk to the two-story duck blind over-looking the Great Marsh pond.

The purpose of my hike to the duck blind was to take sunrise photographs from the upper deck. It was a cloud less sunrise. It was not full of brilliant colors.
As I looked around I realized the spectacular view was not in the direction of the sunrise but behind me.

The trail I followed to the Great Marsh duck blind is outlined in blue on the map above. The round trip was approximately 0.68 miles.
