A photographers journey at one of Europe's highest alpine roads - by Martijn Droger
While traveling up one of the highest mountain roads in the Italian Alps suddenly the road turned and for a few seconds I could see heaven in front of me. The fog rising up from the wet forest created the most amazing beams of light over the narrow road. A few seconds it lasted, like the blink of an eye, then it was gone. The evening ride up Passo Gavia had just begun.
The narrow road turned and turned and turned, the higher we got, the colder it became and the more crazy the views became. The rainy day had just cleared and the sun shined its golden evening light over this remote part of the Italian Alps.
Stay tuned for more..
