Motorcycle Tour - Snapshots / Motorradtour - Schnappschüsse

in #photography6 years ago

My contribution today is a bit different: there are only snapshots, and most are from my motorcycle;)

Because today was such a nice weather, I had to do a short motorcycle tour. From the short tour then 4 hours and 4 mountain passes have become.

First I rode from Klagenfurt to Italy to the Lago di Predil / Lago di Raibl and from there to the Nevea Pass / Sella Nevea.

Then it went back to the Lago di Predil and then over the Predil pass to Slovenia.

The next route took me through the Soča Valley up to the Vršič pass and the last part of my tour then was to Kranjska Gora and over the Wurzenpass back home to Klagenfurt.

The weather was gorgeous and partly already summery warm. The roads were dry throughout, which especially pleased me on the descent from the Vršič Pass, because most bends are not paved, but consist of cobblestones.

This was the first real ride this year - my butt hurts and I'm tired :) - do not worry, I will not torture you all summer with photos of my dirty little Harley ;)

My Dear Friend @Johannpiber, you have a very serious Harley-Davidson! He is beautiful, two-wheeled Stealth! He caught all my attention))) I think that this journey was worth a few bruises on the soft part of the photographer)) I imagined the silence of this nature and the sound of this motorcycle, this is a very cool combination! I am surprised that you found it possible to make stops and leave your horse alone))) Great pictures!

Good evening, my friend @barski :)

This is the Sportster Iron 883, some say it is a motorbike for girls, because it is so small, weak and lightweight - only about 260 kilos and 53 PS ;)

I have seen this motorbike last year and I knew at once, that I want it. I did not care and I still do not care wether it is a Harley or another brand - I like this motorbike :)))

I have made only a few stops today - on my next rides I want to do more often and more serious photographing, but because this was my first real tour this year I just enjoyed riding ... :)))

Thank you so much again for your nice words :)

Thats a good long ride and the scenery is spectacular, and now I get to see your bike that's a nice Harley glad you had a good day to be out on it ;)

Yeah JJ, thank you 😁 It was a very nice ride.
Now I have to learn to combine photographing and riding 🤔

Do you have a gopro or similar, a friend at work was showing us a ride they did recently in bear mountain I think it was all taken with a gopro mounted on the bike

I have a cheap camera similar to GoPro. It makes nice videos and I will mount it on my bike on my next ride.

Cool I look forward to seeing that :)

I don't like Video editing, so don't expect too much 😆

Me either but Just trimming it to the length you want is maybe all that is needed

Yes, trim, title, some background music, and maybe explaining subtitles, that's all I have done..

Very nice photos of nature and your powerful bike. The mountains are impressive while the clear emerald stream looks so refreshing! What a short mountain ride could do to your spirit!

Thank you so much @kaminchan :)
You are right, this first ride of the year was wonderful and was good for me and my spirit 😊

haha! howdy sir johannpiber! hey I don't know which pictures are better...the scenery ones or the motorcycle! They're both great and thanks for sharing them.

Good evening @janton 😁
Thank you so much :) this was my first ride in 2019, and I nearly forgot to photograph, because I enjoyed riding 😎

haha! I understand and I'm glad the weather was cooperative and I hope you keep showing photos of that awesome motorcycle!

Good morning @janton :)
of course, when I am going for a ride I will try to add my motorcycle to some of the images ;)

howdy sir johannpiber! hope you have a great workday today! Is that a common bike to have in Austria? Or are you being kind of a rebel?

Good morning @janton - or I should better say good night to you ;)

Since this is the last working day of the week, it should be great, thank you :)

You can see more and more Harleys on the Austrian streets, but also Japanese sports bikes, scooters and all other kinds and brands. My son rides an Italian Superbike (Brand: Beta, 125cc). For me it seems, that the motorcycle family is growing ;)

No, I am not a rebel, and if the name on the bike, which I have seen and loved from the first moment on, was Kawasaki or Jamaha or anything else, I would not care. But the name is Harley Davidson, and this is okay for me too. I am certainly not the typical Harley rider ... I have some Harley gear (leather jackets, helmet), but I am different from the other Harley riders, I think.
My helmet is a full face helmet, I wear gloves, a protecting leather jacket and motorcycle boots. My Jeans are motorcycle Jeans and when I go for a longer tour I have protectors for the Jeans and also for the jacket I am wearing.
I ride save and not like a bad ass, I greet whoever greets me, even scooters or mopeds ;) and I am not a member of a chapter or motorcycle club.
I prefer to ride alone and enjoy riding, like every other rider :)

Howdy again sir johannpiber! Well that is super interesting...what are motorcycle jeans, I don't even know what that is?
What about when it gets real hot, isn't all those clothes extremely hot?
I like all the protection though, that's how I'd do it.
is that bike that your son has a real fast one?

Mine look like ordinary jeans, but they are made of thicker fabric and have kevlar inlays. They also have pockets on the knees for knee protectors.

I prefer sweating than sitting on the bike unprotected.

No, he is 16 1/2 and with the drivers license he has he may only ride 125cc bikes. His bikes maximum speed is about 70-75 miles/h. Next year he can upgrade his drivers license and will be allowed to ride bigger bikes, and after another 2 years he can make the last upgrade to the full motorcycle license, which allows him to ride any bike :)

There are 3 (4) steps to get the full motorcycle license in Austria:

  • Moped (not neccessary)
  • A1 - 16 years - 125 ccm and max 11 kW (15 hp)
  • A2 - 18 years - max 35 kW (48 hp)
  • A - 20 years
