We're in the middle of summer, or rather, a time of drought and high temperatures, thanks to a sun that seems to be hotter than ever since the beginning of the year. For Venezuela, this means, among other things, in addition to the excessive heat, power outages and rationing of three or more hours every day or night...
Recently, on one of those nights, something interesting happened with one of the candles we used to light our way in the dark. For some reason, it melted completely on one side, leaving the other half of the stalk almost intact, including the wick.

Yes, on a night without electricity, in addition to rechargeable LED bulbs and cell phone flashlights, Venezuelans resort to old-fashioned wax candles.
At home, we always stock up on several candles, just in case the aforementioned rationing extends beyond the scheduled time.

I can't explain the reasons, but I did find it very interesting; Without hesitation, I obtained photographic evidence of the event, albeit in close-up mode, to give visibility to the interior of the candle remains.

In post-processing, I decided to exaggerate the sharpness and grain, aiming to give it, in addition to greater visibility, an old-film feel.
I hope you enjoy these autopsy photos.
