This is a old garage of some sort on the same part of land.
that old house has very dark, greyish roof. Not really something ordinarily for central and southern part of Europe. Seems like you have totally different rock, suitable for roof
The roof made out of slate. When new it gives a really good finish on the roof and lasts years.
