CHRONICLES OF AN UNFORGETTABLE TRIP! (# 3) The city of my dreams. (Anecdote + Photos)

in #photography7 years ago (edited)
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I hope you are well today. As promised, here is another small part of what was this great trip that I loved. I hope you enjoy it!

Since I can remember, visiting England had been one of my biggest dreams. And I am very grateful to have been able to visit England at last, you can not imagine my excitement at having the opportunity to know the capital of my favorite country at that time, and for that I want to share it with you today ...

The city of my dreams.

And so it is, people. I left one morning from Porto, Portugal on a flight with a stopover in Spain, and surprisingly that day we didn't get any setbacks like the other time ... Hahaha. After two hours of flight and another time at the airport, we managed to find a taxi to take us to the hotel.

When we arrived it was already night, so we went straight to the room and from there we decided to go out to eat something and explore the surroundings. I couldn't be more excited! We walked around half an hour and at the end we ended up eating at a Nando's that was out there. My dad told me that even if we wanted to continue traveling, we had to go to sleep because the next day we had scheduled a city tour that was included in the tour package we had chosen.

The next day we were ready half an hour before we were supposed to be ready and still an hour later, we had no news of that supposed city tour and I was really starting to despair. It was after an hour and a half of waiting when finally someone called from the reception of the hotel looking for us. Yes, it had taken a while, but I was in London and nothing else mattered.

But not everything was so great, as always, it has a bad part. Although not quite ... The supposed city tour was a bus tour that had only one stop. Great. Although I didn't complain, not at all. On the contrary I'm quite grateful that it happened like this and later I'll tell you why.

I managed to see the Royal Albert Hall theater, a concert hall located in this city, where the greatest British artists have performed. And right in front of this theater is the Albert Memorial. A statue in honor of Queen Victoria's husband. And the interesting thing about this statue is that it is, literally, covered in gold.

We were touring the city for about an hour, and my frustration was horrible, every time they mentioned somewhere, I just wanted the bus to stop and let me take some good pictures, but unfortunately I just got to take a few pictures from the back of the bus.

Finally we reached the center of London. The place I had been waiting for so long to visit, in the distance I could see the Parliament of the United Kingdom, where the great bell of the most famous clock in the world is located. The Big Ben.

And just in front, on the other side of the River Thames, is the London Eye, from which you get a wonderful panoramic view of London. A totally different perspective of which I will tell you in my next posts!

Returning to the story of my wonderful tour, after half-sighting the famous Big Ben, the lady guide of our tour decided that it was great to give us the scoop that the tour package didn't include the return to the hotel, and that we had to search our way of returning alone, without mentioning that we were at a good stretch of our hotel.

well, yes. What can I tell you? sometimes you miss your flight, and other times they leave you to your account in London.

Although it wasn't bad at all...

And with this I say goodbye for today! In case you're wondering, in the next posts I'll be telling you how this day ended. In my profile @milanun, you will find other anecdotes of this trip.
