Hello friends, I am again behind the screen of the laptop writing these lines for you, fantastic things have happened in my life that leave a mark on my memory, I have not stopped learning and especially improving, (or at least I think so ).

Anyway, what I want to tell you is a small update of what has happened.

Since I started in this photographic adventure I had the need to learn to edit my RAW files, I did everything on Linux, using free and open source software, for convenience, economy, security and custom too, I did everything there.

And for the photographic edition, Darktable met my needs and served as a basis to continue growing in the edition, the problem I found is that the calibration of my monitor in Linux is quite complicated, and at the time of printing the photographs I was getting very good results, but different from the ones I saw on my monitor.

Then it was time to return to Windows ... (do not judge me) there I found that the calibration was much easier and more efficient, but a new problem, Darktable consumes too many resources of the laptop when I use it in Windows, so the quick solution, use Lightroom, a very good program but with the problem that is of payment, and that in these moments in which I find myself only taking photography as a practice (since that way I am learning) it is not possible for me to be paying the monthly payment of the program.

So I turned to what most do, look for the “portable” program so that I have it available and keep practicing, and who knows, if I start to get some photographic work in the next few days without a doubt, I will pay the program license because It really is worth it.

Hola amigos, nuevamente me encuentro detrás de la pantalla del portátil escribiendo éstas líneas para ustedes, han pasado cosas fantásticas en mi vida que van dejando huella en mi memoria, no he dejado de aprender y sobre todo de mejorar, (o al menos eso creo).

Como sea, lo que quiero platicarles es una pequeña actualización de lo que ha pasado.

Desde que comencé en ésta aventura fotográfica tuve la necesidad de aprender a revelar mis archivos RAW, todo lo hacía en Linux, usando software libre y de código abierto, por comodidad, economía, por seguridad y por costumbre también, todo lo hacía ahí.

Y para la edición fotográfica Darktable suplió mis necesidades y me sirvió como base para seguir creciendo en la edición, el problema que me encontré es que la calibración de mi monitor en Linux es bastante complicada, y al momento de imprimir las fotografías estaba obteniendo resultados muy diferentes a los que veía en mi monitor.

Entonces fue momento de volver a Windows… (no me juzguen) ahí comprobé que la calibración era mucho más fácil y eficiente, pero un nuevo problema, Darktable me consume demasiados recursos del portátil cuando lo uso en Windows, así que la solución rápida, usar Lightroom, un programa muy bueno pero con el problema que es de pago, y que en éstos momentos en los que sólo me encuentro realizando fotografía como práctica (ya que de esa manera estoy aprendiendo) no me es posible estar pagando la mensualidad del programa.

Así que recurrí a lo que la mayoría hace, buscar el programa “portátil” para de ésa manera tenerlo disponible y seguir practicando, y quién sabe, si comienzo a conseguir algún trabajo fotográfico en los próximos días sin dudas, pagaré la licencia del programa porque realmente lo vale.
