The Grim State of the Drought in California

I go jogging along this creek almost every single say. It has never really registered as a creek to me. I don't know what I thought it was....just some big, empty, concrete monster? But as I was looking up food around my area I saw the little label there. "Ballona Creek." Today when I walked past it I saw it differently. Like a being barely clinging to life. I knew things were dire here but somehow the fact that I never even realized or noticed a body of water near me because it was so dry sort of brought it home. It's a great excuse never to wash my car!
