I wouldn't call the the dried dystopian lakebed unpleasant. The unpleasnt was the hike "back" after the dam, when we had to go a lot further to loop around, especially when other hikers questioned our decision of going off trail.

It's strange to see Devil's Postpile was at our Day 5. In my memory for some reason it was very close to the end of the trail.
