My Visit to Akilpur Sea Beach

I visited Akilpur Sea Beach, which is a beach along the Bay of Bengal. Since Sitakunda in Chattogram is located right on the coast, there are many kilometers of coastline, and among them, Akilpur Sea Beach is one of the most beautiful. This beach is best for its long sandy shores, embankments, natural environment, and breathtaking sunsets and sunrises.

It is located at the extreme west of the Kumira area in Sitakunda, facing the sea. The beach stretches for quite a distance from Kumira to Bashbaria, meaning it can be accessed through the roads of several villages; however, the Kumira gateway is the most commonly used route. As it is a public beach, it can be visited at any time, 24 hours a day.

Sky Color Photography

For beach photography, I selected some of the most beautiful spots at Akilpur Beach. If I tried to capture the entire beach area through pictures, there would be thousands of photos because it is vast in size. Therefore, I chose two special spots for photography where tourists are most frequently seen.

First, I am sharing some sky color photography with you. When I landed on the beach, it was around 5:00 PM, meaning there wasn't much time left for sunset. I believe the sky changes the most during this time of day because it is the transition between light and darkness—the sky truly transforms its appearance.

In the initial photos, you can see the sky is quite clear. Looking towards the sea, the sky seemed a bit white and pale. However, when looking at both sides, the distant landscape and the sky appeared deep blue.

As time progressed and the sun began to descend further, the sky took on a reddish hue. Where the sun was setting, it was red, and while light was still visible in other parts, it started feeling a bit dark. The observation of the sky changing colors throughout this period was wonderful.

Silhouette Photography

I didn't find many perfect objects for silhouette photography, but I tried using the trees along the beach and the large stones of the embankment as backdrops. For this category, I used wide and close-up lenses, which was a new experience for me.

The tide water was crashing right against the embankment. Since there were large sandbags, it was quite tough to stand steadily on them and take photos. I moved around various spots, framing coconut trees and keeping the crimson light from the sun behind them to capture the photographs.

If you look at the pictures, you will notice the objects are somewhat dark, and the setting sun's light in the background reflects beautifully. I also tried to take stable silhouette photographs by keeping the stones of the embankment as objects against the bright sky.

Golden Hour Photography & Videography

I love taking photos during the "Golden Hour" the most, and so far in my Steemit blogging career, I have shared hundreds of sunset photographs. Due to my previous experience, it wasn't too difficult to capture the sunset; I simply tried to catch the best moments.

The sun was almost about to set. I captured the photographs just moments before it merged with the water. By placing the sun in the center of the camera frame and fixing the focus, the exposure was perfectly set, allowing the camera to process the sunset beautifully.

Besides photography, I didn't forget to record videos. Since my device has a dedicated telephoto lens, I tried to capture a 3x zoom close-up video of the sunset in 4K at 60 fps. To be honest, watching the sun sink right in front of me while filming was an extraordinary moment. For a second, it felt like I forgot everything in the world and just wanted to keep staring at the sunset; as long as I looked, I didn't even want to blink until the sun disappeared.

Composition of Water Areas

At this spot of Akilpur Beach, the water can be seen very closely. Honestly, the water looked a bit muddier than before, though sometimes the water here appears crystal clear. Small waves were splashing against the stones of the embankment. You can clearly hear the sound of the water right in front of you.

Tourists love coming to this beach. To run their food businesses, locals have placed several seats and large umbrellas along the shore to protect customers from the heat. I took some compositional photos of those setups, as only customers of specific shops are encouraged to sit there.

Standing on the sandbags, one can see the surrounding trees, stones, seats, umbrellas, water, and the sea all at once. I tried to take a composition of the water area by keeping everything in the frame. It was late afternoon, and the sunlight was fading, so I tried to take photographs by controlling the exposure in low light. Among all the spots, I have shared the best ones here.

Akilpur Sea Beach is one of my favorite beaches. I try to visit here every Friday afternoon, and the beauty of this beach always enchants me. Whether it's summer, monsoon, or winter, this beach seems to change its form and become even more beautiful with every season. No one can help but be mesmerized by the beauty of this beach.
