Piscina de Sal en Rio Lagartos, México

I always thought that the less touristy places are the most attractive and the photo of today is a sample of it. During our visit to Tulum, Mexico we rented an SUV to visit a nearby reserve and the guy we rented from told us about his hometown and how special it is for the landscapes and the possibility of seeing beautiful pink flamingos.

He spoke so well of his town that we were left with curiosity so we decided to include it in our travel itinerary. Its name is Río Lagartos, a small coastal town in the Yucatan Peninsula that captivates for its industry, the salt mines, and the beauty of its landscape as well as the beautiful flamingos that come to the area to rest.

This photo is from one of the salt pools that are in the area and due to the special treatment they give to them, the water of each one has different colors, from a light green to this intense pink that captivates your eyes just by looking at it.

Siempre he pensado que los lugares menos turísticos son los más atractivos y la foto de hoy es una muestra de ello. Durante nuestra visita a Tulum en México rentamos una camioneta para visitar una reserva cerca de la ciudad, el muchacho que nos atendió nos hablo de su pueblo natal y de lo especial que era por el paisaje y porque además allí podíamos ver los hermosos flamencos rosados.

Nos hablo tan bien del lugar que quedamos con la curiosidad así que decidimos incluirlo en nuestro itinerario de viaje. Su nombre es Río Lagartos, un pueblito costero de la Peninsula de Yucatán que cautiva por sus industria, las minas de sal y por la belleza de su paisaje además también de los hermosos flamingos que llegan a la zona a descansar.

La foto es de una de las piscinas de sal que se encuentran en el area y que debido al tratamiento especial que le dan hace que el agua de cada una se torne con distintos colores, desde un verde claro hasta llegar a este intenso rosado que cautiva los ojos con solo mirarlo.
