Looking down at low clouds above Skyline Blvd

We had a couple of much needed rainy days over the weekend that cleared most of the wildfire smoke away. After the rain ended the clouds started to break up and low clouds lingered in the nearby hills. Golden hour struck and the low clouds were still lingering, this was easily one of the most satisfying drone flights I have done.

This is amazing, you showed everyone what a good drone pilot/photographer can achieve, each of those pictures is breathtaking, the angle, the composition, the light and the scene are all perfect, congratulations!

Wow, thank you so much. Drone landscape photography has become my passion over the last year. I still love shooting from the ground but the drone opens up a brand new dimension which expands the possibilities of images by some sort of magnitude. You end up with so many angle and composition options that it becomes overwhelming very quickly. I feel like I am just scratching the surface of possibilities and I am very excited to continue exploring them.

awesome! thank you!

Whaaaat. Those are other-worldly. Resteemed!

:D Thank you!

Damn bro that third shot is crazy, dope series man!!

yeah I love that shot as well, just magic. I wish I took more frames like that but all the lens flairs and light lines made me go for other shots. I'm glad I at least took that capture though because after the fact I think the lines actually add to the image.

Great images, @fivealive55.

With the clouds and the light, it gives everything more of a fantasy look, I think. I especially like how the middle image turned out, with what looks like straight streaks of sunshine mingled with the white of the dissipating clouds and the verdant hilltop below.

I can see why you enjoyed it. That DJI Mavic Pro is amazing.

Congratulations on the curie, by the way. Very well deserved.

thank you! I also really like that middle image and agree that the conditions were very fantasy like

wow @fivelive55, the sky finally clear. And able to enjoy the light and scenery. I especially love your third and fourth photos. How the drone captured the light and cloud. It can make into postcard.

You fly your drone how high in able to capture all these beautiful scenery?

Thank you! I don't pay much attention to the altitude when I take the photos but the drone has a software limitation of 500 meters/1604 feet, and I sometimes I hit that on my flights.

It actually not easy to control a drone in such area, it might hit into plants sometimes because of the weather. You must be need to watch it closely. But what would it happen if you hit the limit? It will give you a signal or it will fell down? Sorry for such a silly question, because i always admire how people able to fly a drone. and I have limited knowledge about it.

Wordless. Resteemed ~ So that I can keep returning to these amazing images and !tip

Thought of approaching National Geographic?

♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

hah, thank you so much! I have uploaded to the natgeo yourshot website in the past, it's been a few years though.

I'd go for it @fivealive. These images are incredible and they tell a most telling story that needs to be told. ♥︎♥︎⚖️♥︎♥︎

I'm glad to hear that the wildfire smoke is cleared away. You can finally breath properly I guess :)

Your photos are stunning but I can imagine a short video with these images. It would be amazing. These light clouds are my favorite as I consider them one of the best photography conditions. They give images special touch :) It somehow looks like a fairy tale.

Third photo would be my favorite. I like the light coming through the clouds. It's beautiful!

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you! I do usually take a bit of video on most flights including this one. I plan to compile something soon with short clips from a lot of different flights.
