I like the photo dark with the subject highlighted as well. I can’t help but wonder if it would add more depth with the subject on the left. But then that may just make it a more traditional image. It’s pretty powerful with the subject correctly lit.

I have to say though, if editing is the only improvement you need to make you’ve got a great image!
